Arne Slot has revealed what legendary Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said to him in a congratulatory text message after the Reds won their 20th English league title last weekend.

Former league winner Klopp, who is now the head of global football at Red Bull, has been in regular contact with his successor Slot throughout this season - and sent him a nice message after the title was wrapped up with a 5-1 win against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday.

And Slot says Klopp was the most famous face from a huge pool of people congratulating him.

‘Of course (I got) a lot, a lot, a lot of messages. And, yeah, they are nine out of 10 times the same. But they come from a good heart. And it's always nice to get these messages. I've tried to answer all of them, not by sending big messages back, but I've tried to answer all of them.

‘It's been amazing, especially Sunday. It was, for all the Liverpool fans, one of the best days of their lives, and it was the same for me. The way the whole day went… scoring the goals, seeing how much it meant to the players, but also to the fans, was really special to be part of.

‘I assume (the most famous person to message) was Jurgen. What did he have to say? Yeah, what most of them said, congratulations, now you know how special of a club it is, now you are part of history as well, these kind of things.

‘He was really happy for me, for the players, for the staff, for the fans, like we all know Jurgen, so, yeah. Maybe I forgot a few, but I think he was the most famous.'
